Biography

Bouke van Balen followed an interdisciplinary Bachelor Program at the University of Amsterdam eventually graduating in Neuropsychology and Philosophy. He did his MSc in Philosophy of Science, Technology & Society at University of Twente. He is currently a PhD student in a joint endeavor with TU Eindhoven and TU Delft on the Ethics and Philosophy of BCIs, researching the ethics of BCIs and their disruptive potential for the conception of personhood. His research is part of the Ethics of Socially Disruptive Technologies research program.
